What is pancreatitis?
Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas, the organ that makes insulin and digestive enzymes. Acute pancreatitis causes severe upper-abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, and elevated lipase. It is a medical emergency that often requires hospitalization.
Severe cases can progress to necrotizing pancreatitis, pancreatic abscess, organ failure, and death.
The GLP-1 connection
Pancreatitis has been a known signal with GLP-1 drugs since early diabetes trials. Lawsuits allege the manufacturers downplayed the risk and failed to warn that severe and recurrent pancreatitis could occur.
Do you qualify?
You may qualify if you were hospitalized with documented pancreatitis (elevated lipase or imaging confirmation) during or after GLP-1 use and had no prior history of pancreatitis. A free case review confirms whether your case fits the MDL criteria.
