How compounded semaglutide differs
Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved. Potency, purity, and dosing vary by compounder. Some products use semaglutide salt forms (sodium, acetate) that have never been studied in humans. Adverse events have included overdose-pattern symptoms, severe vomiting, and hospitalization.
Who may be liable
Med spas, prescribing telehealth providers, and the compounding pharmacy itself may all bear responsibility. These cases are typically litigated outside MDL 3094, in state court or in separate federal actions.
